About me

Hello! I’m Amy Cousineau

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker licensed in RI and MA. I completed my undergraduate degree at St. Michael’s College and my Master of Social Work graduate degree at Smith College School for Social Work. I have extensive professional experience working within and across systems, as well as with individuals across the developmental lifespan including teens and young adults. I also provide LGBTQIA+ affirming care and have supported many clients through their gender transition. As such, I help clients explore where they are in the world and how best to support their journey.

I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults, providing individual and family therapy. My therapeutic style encompasses a broad range of techniques. My approach as a therapist is empathic, non judgmental yet direct. I am passionate about my work and am committed to ongoing learning to ensure I am offering evidence-based, trauma-informed and culturally sensitive treatment. I consider myself to be an integrationist, incorporating elements from a variety of treatment modalities.
